Business owners make difficult decisions every day. When those decisions involve employees, the legal and practical considerations can quickly become complicated.

I understand the weight of those decisions because I grew up in a family business. Watching my parents build and run their company gave me an early appreciation for the challenges business owners face—balancing the needs of employees, customers, and the long-term success of the business. I also saw the value of having trusted advisors who could help navigate difficult situations with practical, informed guidance.

That perspective continues to shape the way I practice law today.

For more than a decade, I have focused my practice on helping employers navigate workplace issues with confidence. I advise businesses throughout Louisiana and Texas on employment law matters ranging from day-to-day workplace questions and policy development to employee complaints, internal investigations, and responses to administrative charges. My goal is to help clients make informed decisions, reduce legal risk, and address issues before they become costly disputes.

Before founding Brownlee Law, I practiced employment law at a large law firm representing employers in complex workplace matters. I also served as an attorney for two different federal agencies, where I advised management on employment issues and personnel decisions. Those experiences provided valuable insight into both the legal and practical realities employers face and reinforced the importance of proactive, business-minded legal counsel.

Today, I work primarily with small and midsize businesses that want experienced employment law guidance without the expense of a full-time, in-house or big firm employment lawyer. Whether a client needs ongoing employment counsel or assistance with a specific workplace issue, I strive to provide advice that is responsive, practical, and tailored to the way each business operates.

I believe the best legal guidance helps clients make confident decisions—not simply react when problems arise. By building long-term relationships with the businesses I serve, I aim to become a trusted resource that business owners and leaders can rely on as workplace questions evolve.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis, and cheering on the LSU Tigers (and the Georgia Bulldogs in loyal support of my husband).
